He listened, stifling a laugh as he heard her feet running straight towards him. He jumped in surprise and leaned back against the wall, watching as she stopped just ahead of him.
It was almost too easy.
He jumped forward and yelled loudly, "BANG!" at the same time as he slipped his good arm (his right arm) around her waist and picked her up off the ground.

Jess stopped, listening to the silence for a minute. This was way too odd. She grew suspicious but before she could turn around and head another way...
"BANG!"
Jess screamed but started to laugh as Todd lifted her up and off of the ground. "REVENGE!" she declared while holding his arm. "REVENGE!"

Todd laughed loudly in triumph, revelling in the sound of her scream. He was grinning ear to ear as he heard her laugh. For some reason he loved that she was laughing with him. Like she hadn't taken it the wrong way and gotten mad or anything. They were actually having fun. It was awesome.
He laughed at her outcries and held her high against him so her back was against - more or less - the right side of his torso, her head was just above his and her feet were still off the ground. She was surprisingly light. "Just try it!" he said, laughing again.

Jess couldn't stop laughing. It had gotten to the point where her sides were killing her but she couldn't stop laughing as Todd held her up in the air. "Oh you are SO going to get it!" she declared. Jess kicked at the air in front of her, trying to struggle free of his grip. "Thats not nice! You're bigger than me!"
Jessica was laughing, though, no matter how hard she tried to sound upset at him, she would just laugh it off. "Oh you wont wanna SEE the fire I'm going to bring!" she declared before she started to laugh again. "REVENGE!"

Todd laughed loudly. "Hardly," he said. "I'm just a tad bit stronger is all," he said, grinning like a little boy in the thrill of a wicked deed. It was a little hard to hang onto her while she was flailing about, but he managed. Plus he really didn't want her to fall to the floor. That just wouldn't be cool.
Her final outcry did him in. He couldn't stop laughing. He was laughing so hard he wasn't even making any noise, just grinning and shaking, tears forming in his dark eyes. His grip loosened just a little so that Jess slid slowly down him until her feet reached the floor. He kept his arm around her however, hardly noticing how close he held her as he continued to laugh.

Jess had to admit that her final outburst had been pretty hilarious. Todd had been laughing so hard that he wasn't even making a sound. Just trembling and smiling to the point where there were tears. Jess partially felt bad for making him cry for some unknown reason since he, clearly, hadn't been hurt by her.
"Todd you can," she began but he seemed to be laughing so hard that she didn't want to make him stop. Not to mention he looked so funny she'd started to laugh too. Once her feet hit the ground, she went limp, using Todd as her only support. By now, she was laughing the same way he was. Trembling, silently, grinning and crying at the same time. She reached up and covered her face as she laughed and turned, moving her arms around his neck and hugging him while they laughed. Hey, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Todd was absolutely DYING. This was too funny. He figured if you looked at it from a different point of view, it was funny, yes, but not nearly as funny as he was making it seem. But for some reason it was just hilarious to him and he could not stop laughing.
He kept his arm around Jess and rested his forehead against her shoulder. He pulled back after a moment, still killing himself laughing, and she turned and slipped her arms around his neck. He hugged her a little closer and leaned his back against the wall, giving it the full weight of the two of them until he started to slowly slide down until he was sitting on the floor, bringing Jessica with him.
It was his hope that sometime in the near future he could stop laughing.

Jess nearly collapsed, she was laughing so hard. She hugged Todd close, laughing hard in his neck as she felt lean back to rest against the wall. She didn't move, but rather let him bring her down with him. Once the two had hit the floor, she felt herself start to calm a little.
Jess sighed and gasped for air several times, still not able to stop the laughing as she held onto Todd, still practically using him as a mattress. It was another minute or two before Jess managed to get out "W-why are we-we laughing so hard?!" she choked out. Her body still shook, but she never let go of Todd or moved from the spot.
Maybe, with a little luck, she could calm herself down. What was so damn funny anyway?

Todd leaned his head back against the wall and grinned at her, still laughing his ass off. He was slouching against the wall a little, so they were at perfect eye level, poor Jess practically in his lap.
'I don't know' he mouthed, unable to form proper words just yet. He kept his right arm around her, his casted one remaining safely at his side until he lifted it and brushed away the tears in his eyes as best as he could with his fingers before dropping his arm again and smiling at Jessica. "Why... can't I..." He snorted. "Stop?!" Laughter would kill him. After 17 years, laughter would be what did him in.
He finally started to calm down after a few minutes, sighing heavily and smiling at her. "Good lord," he said, releasing a final quiet laugh.

And when she finally thought it was over...Jess started to laugh again. Darn Todd and his random outbursts out laughter. She was going at it so hard, her sides were starting to hurt and tears were starting to form in her eyes.
"Why... can't I...Stop?!"
"BECAUSE YOU'RE CRAZY!" she forced out. Jess let her head fall against the wall beside his. She pressed her forehead on it gently and shook uncontrollably in his lap. She'd found a comfortable position and she chose to sit that way so she wouldn't hurt either of them. Without realizing it, her laughter began to die slightly and she shook her head, eyes falling on Todd.
Jess let out a final laugh after him and rubbed her eyes a couple of times to brush the tears away. "..Was it really that funny?"

Todd let another laugh as she informed him of the state of his sanity. "That could very well be it," he laughed, closing his eyes for a minute. He opened them again, trying to calm his breathing, as Jess was rearranging herself more comfortably. He smiled at her as she brushed away her tears. Without really thinking about it, he lifted his left hand - the one in the cast - and gently brushed away a stray tear next to the corner of her eye with his fingertip. He let his hand fall and he smiled. "I guess so," he said, laughing softly. He was good though. There were no threats of uncontrollable laughter coming. He was spent.

Jess shut her eyes tightly, trying to calm herself down so she could burst out laughing again and possibly split her side. Her eyes fell to his again as his injured arm reached up and he wiped away a stray tear for her. Before she could stop herself, Jess's face had flushed to a color that looked very much like Todd's hair. Jess smiled and leaned forward, pressing her lips against Todd's head. She pulled away after a second and stood before reaching down for him to take her hands. Hopefully, he'd take the gesture from a moment ago as a friendly one. Maybe then he wouldn't freak out and run away or something.

Todd's eyes watched the changing reactions on Jessica's face. He realized she was really very pretty when she smiled, and then she leaned forward and kissed his head. He was a little surprised at the gesture, blinking for a second. He watched as she got to her feet and offered him her hands to take. He smiled up at her, figuring it must have been a friendly thing. That was cool. He took one of her hands - seeing as he couldn't do much to hold on with the other in its current state - and got to his feet. "Thanks," he said, smiling at her.

Jess' face changed again and a smile crossed over it once more as Todd blinked, almost surprised. Maybe he was surprised. After all, Jess had just kissed his forehead for no reason at all really. Who could blame him? Jess took his hand and helped him to his feet, smiling once again as he thanked her. Nodding, her smiled faded slightly and she had to look down as Todd smiled at her. "It's no problem..." Jess trailed off before looking up, cheerfully. "Wanna watch a movie or something?"

Todd was about to ask if she was alright, or if he'd said or done something wrong. There wasn't even an enormous change in her, but for a moment her smile didn't seem quite as full as it had. Before he could voice his thoughts, however, she was suddenly quite cheerful again and asked if he'd like to watch a movie. He decided not to say anything about it at all, figuring she was perfectly fine and he was just being an idiot. "Sure," he said, rather enthused. "Have any in mind?"

Jess squeaked. It came out before she could really stop it. It was one of those sounds she made when she was super happy or excited. In this case, however, it was both since he'd asked her if there was a certain one she wanted to see. In fact there was...hopefully he was okay with chick flicks. Before he could protest, Jess darted into the living room before she slid on her knees to the DVD case and yanked out 'The Notebook'. Squeaking again, she jumped to her feet, ran back to Todd and held it up for him to see. "THIS ONE!!!" she said, rather happily.

Todd very slowly raised his dark eyebrows as Jess squeaked.
Yes, squeaked.
He tried to keep the grin from his face but it was incredibly difficult. Then she was off, scurrying back with a movie in her hand. Todd tilted his head to see the case, but then she held it up for him to see and he straightened properly, reading the title. Oh god. His sister had made him sit through this one. And he'd nearly cried. As horrendously embarrassing as it was, Todd was such a sucker for romantic flicks.
Not that anyone would ever know that.
And Jess looked so bloody excited, he had to laugh. "Okay, okay!" he said. "That one!" He laughed again, finding her absolutely adorable when she was this happy. He was glad they'd met that day at the hospital. She was like a little light dancing around in Todd's rather lonely world.
